I’ve always been a fan of the JetBrains products, RubyMine, PyCharm and WebStorm are my go to tools and I’ve taken advantage of the perpetual fallback licenses which allow me to keep using the product after my yearly subscription has finished. However, I recently upgraded my 2015 MacBook Pro to a 14″ M2 MacBook Pro and I had to download my old software to work on Apple silicon… oh and now the menu’s aren’t working!
Having contacted support they were more than happy to help, and after mentioning it’s unlikely they’ll fix something in a previous version, they have given me 15% discount on a new version.
Not sure if this is me being cynical but this sounds like a cunning plan!
